She was slain either by the Hound of Valinor or in the collapse of Minas Tirith. This was not the same Minas Tirith in Gondor but another earlier version that was made by elves. She wore a Cloak of Darkness that put people to sleep. This cloak was taken off of her by Luthien, after her passing. Basically Thuringwethil was a Woman of Secret Shadow.
